This time, using a Fujifilm X-S10 system, we will thoroughly review its attractiveness based on the examples taken using the latest model, “FUJIFILM X-S10,” released on November 19, 2020.
Fujifilm’s mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, which is gaining support from individualists
The “FUJIFILM X-S10” introduced is a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera developed by the camera manufacturer FUJIFILM.
At FUJIFILM, we have developed many cameras that are gaining support from those who are conscious of “creating works”, and the FUJIFILM X-S10 is also a model that you can feel its charm.
At FUJIFILM, we have been focusing on film development for a long time, so we are more particular about color expression than other companies. It is also characteristic that there are colors that can be produced only by Fujifilm Mirrorless Camera.
Attractive, compact and lightweight body and easy-to-use operability
The FUJIFILM X-S10 introduced this time, is equipped with the traditional performance of FUJIFILM. At the same time, the camera body has been made smaller and lighter considering portability and expanded in terms of functionality.
A simple and easy-to-store exterior design with no extra protrusions has been adopted. The weight is about 465g, as light as a mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera.
In addition, the buttons and dial layout, which are conscious of ease of use, have been improved compared to the existing models, and the camera was born as an easier-to-use camera while maintaining the excellent performance of the Fujifilm mirrorless camera.
Appearance review
From here, we will review the appearance features using the actual photograph of the FUJIFILM X-S10.
Earlier, I introduced the design as simple and easy to store, but I will explain how easy it is to use in terms of appearance.
New design that does not require unique operations
I have reviewed many Fujifilm products, but they all had a “unique operation feeling”.
Even with the basic settings, it is necessary to make full use of the dial, and I remember being surprised at the difference in operability with other companies’ cameras.
The FUJIFILM X-S10 uses the traditional Fujifilm Mirrorless Camera method for basic operability but uses three dials mainly for setting changes.
On the mode dial that specifies the shooting mode, custom positions that can record your favorite shooting settings (image quality settings, focus settings, continuous shooting settings, etc.) are arranged from [C1] to [C4]. You can record in 4 places.
Portability that is not burdensome to carr
The camera body’s portability can be considered a concern when using a single-lens reflex camera.
The FUJIFILM X-S10 uses a simple design with no extra protrusions that hinder storage.
However, only the grip part protrudes as an improvement in the holding feeling when holding the camera.
SLR cameras are combined with a lens, but thanks to this gripping part, a sense of stability is created in shooting regardless of the combination with any lens.
Equipped with a vari-angle LCD, you can use it freely.
The FUJIFILM X-S10 uses a vari-angle LCD that can be moved left, right, up, and down on the LCD screen on the camera’s back.
When shooting outdoors, if the LCD screen is not parallel to your line of sight, it may not be easy to see due to reflections.
In photography, shootings such as “low angle” and “high angle” change the camera’s height, so the vari-angle LCD is compatible with such shooting styles.
Performance review
From here, we will introduce the camera’s performance based on the actual shots.
Since FUJIFILM is characterized by color development, I will take all the examples posted here in JPEG format.
Full basic performance
The FUJIFILM X-S10 is conscious of a beginner-friendly concept such as a compact, lightweight body and easy-to-use operability. Still, it also has a full range of fundamental performance.
It is a model with the latest technology, about 26.1 million pixels, and is equipped with “X-Trans CMOS4” for the image sensor and “X-Processor4” for the image processing engine.
With these latest image sensors and image processing engines, you can feel the high performance centered on AF performance and realize quick and accurate focusing.
Equipped with a newly developed anti-vibration unit inside the body
The feature of the FUJIFILM X-S10, a freshly developed in-body anti-vibration unit, has been installed.
The anti-vibration unit is a mechanism that corresponds to a general image stabilization mechanism. and the “anti-vibration” unit installed in the X-S10 contributes to the miniaturization of the body while maintaining the same performance as the anti-vibration unit installed in the upper model. It has made it compact to do.
The anti-vibration effect is up to 5 axes and six steps, which is an excellent performance that can be used in scenes where the shutter speed tends to decrease, such as when shooting at night.
“Film simulation” that Fujifilm is proud of
The FUJIFILM X-S10 is also equipped with a “film simulation” function that allows you to experience Fujifilm’s characteristic color expressiveness.
You can choose from 18 types of film simulations, and you can choose the finish that suits your taste.
With a single-lens reflex camera, the state generally called “shooting and taking out” feels dull, but with Fujifilm, which applies film simulation from the normal state, the texture and color development is due to “shooting and taking out.” There is.
In addition to the film simulation in the initial state, you can make fine adjustments such as tone and clarity to achieve the finish you like.
Not limited to the FUJIFILM X-S10, one of the features of FUJIFILM’s mirrorless interchangeable lens camera is that you can complete the expression in the camera.
The Fujifilm X-E3 is the company’s latest X-mount camera, equipped with an APS-C-sized sensor capable of shooting high-quality 4k ( UHD ) video. I’ve reviewed the Fujifilm digital camera X-PRO2, X-T2, X-T20, and GFX 50S and think they’re good cameras, but the Fuji X-E3s plus mainly focus levers and LCD touch screens. It is an excellent camera that is easy to use due to its addition. In addition, the autofocus function and excellent video quality are also noteworthy in the Fujifilm X-E3 trying to deliver a review.
Fujifilm X-E3 Mirrorless Digital Camera w/XF18-55mm Lens
Fujifilm lent me a sample product, and I was able to try it for a few days, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you. The following was found by reviewing.
Ergonomic usability
The first thing that surprised me was that it was so lightweight that I wondered if the parcel I sent contained a camera. It will be a great advantage in terms of portability.
Secondly, the grip on the right hand is comfortable. The button layout on the back and the new response focus stick are straightforward. The front focus mode selector (Manual / Continues / Single) is also in a very logical location.
What I understood by using
The focus lever worked almost perfectly when used in combination with autofocus mode. Place the marker where you want it to focus, and it will become the focal point. Overall, the autofocus system worked well in most cases. You will also benefit significantly from this AF mode when used with a gimbal.
The new LCD monitor is bright enough for outdoor use, but more importantly, it’s now a touch screen. The touched point becomes the focal point, making it very easy to use. However, since the LCD screen is fixed, it becomes difficult to see if the camera position is high or low.
Perhaps the biggest weakness of this camera is the lack of image stabilization. When shooting handheld, combining it with a lens with image stabilization is recommended.
Menu
The Fujifilm digital camera X-E3 has a menu structure similar to the company’s recent cameras, but unique items still require digging into the menu. However, you can assign frequently used items to the FN button, so you don’t have to dig into the menu often. By the way, the LCD itself can also be assigned (equivalent to four FN buttons), and you can assign it to the gesture of swiping in any of the four directions.
Video function
The X-E3 offers different frame rates for video frame rates and resolutions, each when recording in UHD 4K, FHD, or HD resolutions. Unfortunately, the maximum value you can shoot with UHD 4K is 29.97fps. This camera has worldwide specifications and can change the frame rate between 50Hz and 60Hz. I haven’t tested the image quality in 1080p shooting mode, but you can expect good quality, just like any other company’s cameras today. The UHD4k has a recording rate of only 100Mbps, but the color fidelity is very high.
One thing to remember when shooting in 4K is that you can only record continuously for 10 minutes. (15 minutes for FHD, 30 minutes for 720p). Also, since F-log is not supported internally or externally, there is only one way to substitute it with film stock simulation.
Regarding audio, this camera, like the X-Pro2 and X-T20, has a non-standard 2.5mm remote/audio mic jack and no headphone socket. You can adjust the audio level during recording.
Functional
Regarding battery charging, the company’s charging display has repeatedly been commented on. Turning on the green light while charging and turning it off when it is complete would be unclear. I want you to meet the global standard.
I’ve known the company’s camera menu for a long time. Assigning video-related features to various buttons, especially the “Q” button, is handy. The “Q” button is convenient when you need quick access to various shooting parameters.
Also, it was a pleasant surprise to switch between LCD and EVF, even during recording. It’s a slight improvement, but you can switch between LCD and EVF when shooting, so this tiny function can be a big improvement.
The low-light characteristics make the image very beautiful, even at ISO 3200. Even with ISO 6400, there is some noise, but the picture is gorgeous enough. The EVF is straightforward to use, and the light meter is accurate and effective.

The lens used in this review was the company’s XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM WR. This lens is the company’s main product, 24mm to 84mm in full-frame conversion, and is fixed at f / 2.8
The advantages and disadvantages of combining with Fujifilm camera X-E3 are also described.
Strong Points
Excellent sharpness over the entire zoom range
Manual aperture ring
f / 2.8 Constant aperture
All-weather design
High-speed focus motor
Disadvantages
No optical image stabilization

summary
In the Fujifilm X-E3 review, I felt that it was the best mirrorless still camera Fujifilm had ever worked on to shoot video. It is an affordable camera with video quality, accurate autofocus in video mode, and portability. It’s a shame that the X-E3 didn’t include a picture profile for the log.
It’s even more regrettable because the camera’s performance was good. If you want a camera that can shoot video on a low budget, this is an excellent camera to recommend. The difference between the X-T20 and the more expensive Fuji X-E3 is about $ 100. If you must choose between them, you’ll select the Fujifilm X-E3.
